General Rules
Age Requirement:
No minors are permitted under any circumstance. Any characters created in-city must also abide by this rule. A minor is defined as someone under the age of 18 years old.
Discord Requirement:
You must be in the official Discord server in order to connect to the Fivem server. If you leave the Discord server, the following actions may take place. It will be considered a resignation to any whitelisted jobs for all characters. Any homes or property your characters own, may be repossessed by the bank. Any assets acquired via donations may be subject to removal without a refund.
Harassment and Toxicity:
Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated and may result in a permanent ban upon first instance. Toxicity of any kind will not be tolerated and may result in a permanent ban upon first instance. It will be up to staff discretion to enforce this policy based on evidence gathered and provided. Bean Collection is an open community which accepts all players as they are, and who they want to be.
Discord Ticket System:
If any issues pertaining to Bean Collection arise, they must be handled within a ticket. All tickets will be reviewed and discussed by staff. Do not direct message or ping staff for any issues pertaining to the server.
Poaching / Recruiting:
Advertising other servers will result in a permanent ban upon the first instance. Asking any members of the community to join another server will result in a permanent ban upon the first instance.
Bans:
You may be banned from connecting to the server, or from the Discord server at any time per staff discretion. These rules are not an exhaustive list of reasons for a warning or ban. You may appeal a 3 day or more ban via a ticket in Discord. Discussing your ban in any capacity within any official servers, or any third party servers, may extend your ban.
Bans should be considered a learning experience rather than a punishment. People make mistakes, take the time to learn from them and come back as a better roleplayer.
In City Rules
Poor And Low Quality Roleplay:
Staff has full discretion to both determine what poor and low quality roleplay is, and issue warnings or bans based on the information they have regarding scenes. Examples of poor and low quality roleplay include, but are not limited to:
Not using /me to describe injuries to EMS
Not responding to /me’s another player uses on you
Chain robbing players or locations
Driving into the ocean to escape police
Camping locations for players or to wait for cooldowns
Hanging out or gathering at hospitals
Not planning criminal activities and “winging it”
Prioritizing combat over other forms of roleplay
No attempt to make interactions fun or enjoyable for everyone involved
Fun And Fairness:
As this is a roleplay server, roleplay should be prioritized. You should be considerate of other players' roleplay experience, as well as your own. Do not force an interaction with somebody. If they express in any way that they are uncomfortable, or do not consent to the interaction, do not continue the scene or interaction. Give other players a chance to interact with you, do not hang out with the same few people all the time. Do not go into scenes with a “win only” attitude. Give everyone a chance to roleplay out their characters. Example of this would be:
Robbing a bank and escaping on motorcycles to where police won’t be able to follow you.
Kidnapping new players and dumping them in an ocean.
Ending every scene or interaction with a gun fight.
Cops spike stripping every exit of a robbery.
Communication:
A fair quality microphone is required. English is the only language that should be spoken in-city. Push to talk must be enabled while in-city. Mute characters are prohibited, but may be whitelisted via a ticket in Discord. The radio may not be used while your character is in any “downed” state. Your phone may not be used while your character is in any “downed” state. Usage of any third party software or hardware to communicate to other players while in-city is strictly prohibited. Mic spamming is prohibited and may result in warning or ban. “Mic spamming” is considered to be the excessive use of noises, sounds, or words in an attempt to interrupt, disrupt, or prevent a scene. Usage of voice changers or modifiers is permitted, but you must remain intelligible by all players around you.
Breaking Character:
You must stay in character at all times while in-city. Using language such as: my other character, VDM, RDM, the server, make a ticket, check Discord, would all be considered breaking character. Using any unnatural voice changers, such as extreme echo or reverb will be considered breaking character. If another person breaks character, that does not permit you to break character to try to correct the situation. If someone breaks character, make a ticket in Discord and submit a recording of the incident and staff will review the scene. A few examples of this would be:
Incorrect: I just got VMD’d by the guy in the red car. Correct: I just got ran over by the guy in the red car.
Incorrect: Your microphone isn’t working, I can’t hear you. Correct: I see your lips moving, but you’re not saying anything.
Incorrect: This car is a dono car. Correct: This car was imported from out of town.
Any unnatural sound effects, unrelated to your scene, will be considered breaking character. Approaching any staff member about anything unrelated to your current roleplay, especially about issues or tickets, will be considered breaking character. In the event staff is needed in a scene, they will approach you and make it clear who they are, and why they are there.
Account Sharing:
Only the original owner of your account, and any of its identifiers, may use your account. Your identifiers may include, but are not limited to: Fivem account number, Steam ID, Discord Name, Hardware ID. If another person is using your account, or is linked to any identifiers that may not belong to them, both parties may receive a permanent ban upon first offense.
Character Creation:
Character names cannot contain any profanity. Character names cannot be offensive. Character names must be semi-realistic. Superpowered, religious, or mythological characters are prohibited. Animal characters are prohibited, unless whitelisted by staff via a ticket in Discord. Nudity is prohibited in any public area. A public area is defined as any area a regular player can access without passing through a locked door. Some areas are excluded, such as strip clubs or any common sense place where nudity is expected to occur. Failure to follow this rule may result in a ban, or deletion of your character.Combat:
You must have a substantial reason obtained through roleplay to injure somebody. Killing on sight is prohibited with the exception of gang wars. In order to engage in a gunfight, all parties must have interacted with each other for at least 2 minutes prior.
Downed State:
Being in a ‘downed’ state can be defined as your health being less than 1 and an interface appearing, allowing you to send a distress signal. Being in a ‘dead’ or ‘flat backed’ state can be defined as being in a downed state and the first on screen timer has expired. You may not use your radio or phone while in a downed, or dead state. You may speak while in a downed state, but may not speak while in a dead state. Usage of emotes, animations, or other actions that an injured person may not otherwise realistically do, are prohibited. You may not use the respawn or /help feature until after both on screen timers have expired AND the scene/interaction has ended. When using the respawn feature, your inventory will be cleared. No return of items or refunds will occur in any capacity due to this feature. You may only call a local EMS, prior to the expiration of these timers, if instructed to do so by the opposing party who put you in a downed or dead state.New Life Rule
The new life rule, or NLR, operates in the following ways. Upon entering a dead state, your character will lose their memory of any events leading up to what caused you to enter a downed and dead state. You will also forget any events that happened during, or after you entered a downed and dead state. The same memory loss will occur if you ever decide to use the “Hold E To Respawn” function. If you are in a downed state and are revived by a medic, and have not entered a dead state, you will retain full memory of all events prior to and during the time of your downed state.
Permanent Death:
A permanent death, also called ‘perma’ or ‘permakilled’ can be defined as the discontinuation of the playability of your character. A character cannot be forced to have a permanent death in any capacity. If bound by a contract formed through roleplay, if a character refuses to abide by the terms in the contract, staff will determine if the contract is valid. You are allowed to permanently kill your character at any time. You must use the /me format to permanently kill your character. Falsely using the permanent death mechanic may result in a ban. When permanently killing your character, you must make it clear through your /me’s that you are permanently killing your character. If you choose to permanently kill your character, you must delete the character through the character selection screen. If you wish to transfer assets prior to your permanent death, a ticket must be made explaining which assets, as well as their values, you wish to transfer or sell. Examples of how to permanently kill your character are as follows:
/me Defibrillator fails… No heartbeat…Flatlines
/me CPR fails…No pulse
/me Bullet hole through head…
/me Perma
Unexpected Game Shutdowns:
If you are in sight of, or in a scene with, any other players, and your game closes, crashes, or disconnects for any reason, you must make your best attempt to reconnect as soon as possible. You must also make your best attempt to try to communicate to those involved that this has happened, so as to not disrupt a scene or ruin other players' roleplay experience. If you are unable to reconnect for any reason, communicate to those who were around you that you will not be returning, as well as make a ticket explaining the situation. Failure to do so may result in a ban.Metagaming:
Metagaming can be defined as the acquisition, distribution, and or usage of information not directly related to, or involving your character. Information your character did not directly obtain while in-city cannot be used, whether from Discord, streams, or other sources. If you have multiple characters, no information is to be shared in any capacity between characters. Although your other characters may be called cousins, they are to be treated as if they have never met, and never will meet. If you are streaming on any platform, if no reasonable attempt is made to prevent metagaming, you may be held responsible for the actions of other players that resulted from the acquisition of information provided via your stream. Evidence of metagaming in any capacity may result in a ban upon first offense. Some examples of metagaming are as follows:Being in a Discord call and asking someone to assist you without contacting them in city.
Sharing ‘secret location’ information obtained from a video, stream, or image.
Addressing players by their alternate characters names.
Using body cam to remember events after a death state. (This footage is only to be used in the event of a report within a ticket.)
Powergaming:
Powergaming can be defined as the abuse, manipulation, exploitation, and or repetition of in game mechanics to gain an advantage, in any capacity, over another player. Powergaming also falls under the manipulation of in game mechanics to allow a character to do unrealistic, unnatural, or unexpected actions. Evidence of powergaming may result in a ban upon the first offense. Players who are not directly involved, but benefit from the result of, powergaming, may also receive the same punishments. Examples of powergaming are as follows:Using /e sitchair to float above the ground.
Using /e crossarms to hide a gun you are holding.
Farming jobs to get money rather than roleplaying.
Police applying handcuffs before a suspect is secured.
Engaging in robberies or heists after the allowed cutoff time before a server restart.
Conducting a robbery or heist and leaving immediately without waiting for police to engage with you.
Using /help without allowing online EMS to have a chance to help you.
